Research Technician for Aerial Applications
Summit Helicopters is seeking a Research Technician for Aerial Applications to work out of our offices in Cloverdale, Virginia. The position will require travel throughout our service area performing aerial spraying on customers’ rights of way and may require employees to be in the field for several weeks at a time.
Duties:
Pilot a helicopter to spray herbicides for customers in the forestry and utility and natural resources industries. Gather and analyze spray patterns depositions during field operations using current scientific testing procedures and instruments. Compile detailed data reports using computer analysis and make presentations of accumulated data to aerial applicators. Comply with Federal and State regulations and following standard operating procedures. Communicate with company's main office daily with an operational status report. Collaborate with customers' scientists in planning work strategies. Provide detailed records of completed projects. Develop project objectives and targets.
Minimum Qualifications
BS degree in Bio Aeronautics or Aeronautical Engineering plus 6 mos. in position or related aeronautical occupation. Must have FAA commercial pilots license with rotocraft endorsement and no less than 250 hours flight time; Must be able to obtain commercial driver's license (Class B with Hazard and Tanker Endorsements HN); Experience must include organizing/planning agricultural aircraft operations, such as insecticide application.
